Next Democracy Café

July 2026

The next café will be this Saturday 11th July starting at 10:00 as usual and finishing at noon. It is held in the Library. Free to attend but contributions welcome.

Plenty to discuss with a lot happening at the moment. With Andy Burnham looking likely to become our new prime minister there are plenty of questions. Should there be a General Election especially as we have what to all intents and purposes, is a presidential system in all but name? Should he stick to the manifesto in which case why bother to change prime ministers? What can he do that’s different if he has to stick to it?

It doesn’t have to be about current politics of course so if you have a more philosophical question feel free to suggest it. You never know, it might get voted!
