The next Democracy Cafe is on Saturday 12th November 2022 in Brown Street, Salisbury starting at 10 am as usual.

Welcome to the Salisbury Democratic Alliance Website. We are a group of people dedicated to bringing new thinking about democracy to our city. We want to provide citizens with the time, space and capacity to engage in a free and equal dialogue. We began in 2017 with the successful Salisbury Democracy Café which meets on every second Saturday in the month in the Playhouse.

We wanted to create the city’s first Citizens’ Assembly which would have involved randomly selecting a representative group of ordinary people to deliberate on an important local issue and make recommendations to our councils. Unfortunately, unlike other places in Britain, we could not get the financial support from the local authorities.
